My values are Labour values.

I want to help build a stronger, more caring society. I am passionate about Dunedin, and I bring considerable energy and wide experience to the task of representing this electorate.

My diverse work background has given me an understanding of the economic and social levers that can be pulled to achieve meaningful change.

Updates from the local branches

One of the strengths of Labour in Dunedin is the branches that support the wider electorate organisation.  Each branch has its own history, flavour and interests.  Here is a taster and some local contacts for those interested in engaging directly in Party activities.

Dunedin North Young Labour

We have been having weekly meetings. Recently we volunteered with the Dunedin Rape Crisis Street Appeal.

An important issue in Dunedin:

Student loans and allowances. We represent, and we are a part of, the future of this country, and we worry about the changes the National government are making which could negatively affect our fellow students.

At Leith we love to talk policy and not just for talk’s sake.  We submit to the NZ Policy Council on current issues so that the Labour Party when in government will be ready to tackle the challenges facing NZ with courage and determination.

An important issue in Dunedin:

Climate change and poverty (especially for children) are two issues that Leith members have worked on at length. We’ve hosted local forums on these subject pulling in local experts because these global problems have local manifestation and local solutions. New networks of common interest and action from emerged from the forums.
